Donuts Bon Appetit Recipe. How to make yummy and easy donuts.

 If America had a national breakfast pastry, the donut would take the title, hands down. Who, after all, can refuse the deceptively light consistency and sweet crackle of a glazed donut?  Yet donuts remain a rare sight in a home kitchen—a shame, considering they achieve a new state of deliciousness when made from scratch with fresh ingredients and devoured right out of the frying pan. If you’ve never thought about making homemade donuts, these 13 versions just might be enough for you to reconsider. Bon Appetit chocolate.

Instructions

Mix instant yeast, milk powder, egg, sugar, salt and butter or ghee in flour and make     smooth dough with warm water. If milk powder not available, then use warm milk instead of warm water to make dough. Leave for one hour until double in size. Then make 8 round balls, cover and leave for proofing or Turn the dough out onto a floured surface, and gently roll out to 1/2 inch thickness. Cut with a floured doughnut cutter. Let doughnuts sit out to rise again until double. Cover loosely with a cloth.Heat oil in a deep-fryer or large heavy skillet to 350 degrees F. 

Slide doughnuts into the hot oil using a wide spatula. Turn doughnuts over as they rise to the surface. Fry doughnuts on each side until golden brown. Remove from hot oil, to drain on a wire rack. 

Decorate with Bon Appetit chocolate frosting sauce, coconut glaze or plain glaze. Serve these yummy donuts and enjoy.
